“Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” For us, this is perhaps the single most important implication of the fact that Jesus is the Son of God.

“John isn’t condemning us so much as he is inviting us. The words may be harsh, but the meaning is filled with the good news of God’s grace: that while we are sinners, we are not forever doomed to carry our sins, repeat our sins, sink down beneath the weight of our guilt and shame. Rather we can repent – and the Lord God will forgive. And that is, indeed, good news.”

“The peace that comes from knowing God always keeps His promises. The peace that comes from knowing that God truly is now with us, always and in all things.”

Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, looks at his small baby boy and has a vision of that light that is coming into the world. His song is one of praise to God and hope for what God will do not only through his son John, but more so through God’s own son Jesus.
